02. Missions

To achieve its objectives as a catalyst for creation of innovative companies, the incubator is involved in the various stages of construction of a project :

Promotion

Ensure the development of innovative start-ups, particularly from public research, allowing both to contribute :
In the technological densification of the regional industrial base ,
In the economic valuation of research results.

Sensitization

To give birth to the new vocations of innovative entrepreneurs, the incubator is actively involved in raising awareness among various audiences :
University (faculty members, students) and engineering schools of (ENSCI, ENSIL, 3iL IUT ...),
Consumers,
Contractors.

Detection

To identify both human and technological potential within the creation of innovative companies, the detection of projects is carried out in several ways :
For endogenous projects, detection specifically occurs through activities such as the Campus Entrepreneur Competition, a call for proposals known as DIL (Detection and Innovation in Laboratories), or participation in trade fairs (for example, one work shop was entitled, "the creation and taking over of existing of businesses in Limoges”),
For external projects, the incubator is in the detection and evaluation of projects, in collaboration with regional partners involved in economic development

Selection

From pre-selection to the validation of the project

Pre-selection

Each project is analyzed in terms of :
Innovatiion
Expertise of project leader (or team),
Intellectual and industrial property,
Technical and economic credibility ,
Prospects and scope of the market,
International opportunities
Possible support by local laboratories,
Means of support needed for the validation of the project.

Selection

After preliminary analysis and evaluation of means of support, the project is submitted to a Selection Committee consisting of representatives of the industrial, financial and academic world.

On a favourable opinion of the Selection Committee, which is equally endorsed by the Strategic Council for the Incubator, the project is allowed to incubate for a period of 12-24 months.

Incubation

The offer of the incubator is structured around the following actions :
Provision of logistical infrastructure for each project,
Coaching,
Financing activities related to project construction,
Specific training,
An incubation stipend (under certain conditions).

This offer, while not exhaustive, covers mainly the following areas :
The competitive positioning of the innovation compared to existing technologies and services, its competitive advantages, and added value to the customer,
The strength of IP protection and its possible enhancement,
Demonstrating the technical and economic feasibility if necessary with the realization of prototype (s) or first significant series of products,
The identification of market sectors, openness and the strategy for access,
The accompaniment by laboratories to finalize the technical demonstration of the project,
The search for additional human resources,
Legal assistance for the establishment of any operating licenses, patents or know-how especially from the laboratories,
The obtention of expertise, education or benefit to finalize the strategy of the business plan,
Networking and finding partners or professional experts (sales and marketing, , legal, accounting ...),
Assistance in finding start-up funding (capital building, public aid, in contact with potential funders ...).

To help those with innovative ideas to become entrepreneurs, the incubator has established with its partners a rolling program of training, which is fundamental to the mission of accompaniment :

Internal Training :

Organised by the incubator and delivered by external instructors, internal training can address the following topics : project management, accounting, marketing, labor law, business law, export/import practices, seed funding and venture capital, patent strategies l ... External Training :

The Institute HEC Start Up "Challenge +",
The CCI of Limoges and Haute-Vienne : "Becoming an entrepreneur”.

In addition, the incubation strucutre is part of a process of "information / training / action" for testing enterprise creation as part of an accompaniment :
On a daily basis by the operational team of the incubator,
Monthly, within the collective framework of the project leaders' meeting ("group dynamics"),
Bi-annually through the Committee on Monitoring and Evaluation of the incubator.
From time to time, through exchanges with the Alumni Club of previously incubated projects

Creation

The creation of the company can be executed during the incubation period. The headquarters of the company may eventually reside in the incubator.

Contractually, the location of the business must be located in the Limousin region.

The incubator can assist in finding office space, in collaboration with institutional partners (ITC, Ester Technopole, Small Business Development Center, Limousin Expansion ...).

The incubator can assist the project creators in the establishment or the continuation of contracts with laboratories.

The project creator has nowearned the privilege of integrating the larger family of the previously incubated projects. " !

06. Submit your project

A device for the enhancement of the scientific and technological potential of the University other higher education institutions, and research, the incubator is intended to provide project leaders of innovative businesses opportunities for training, structuring and development of their projects.

The Incubator's mission is to participate in transforming the potential of a project by providing, directly or through its partners, technical, managerial, economic, financial and legal aid.

Within this framework, the Incubator provides support to project sponsors in the form of providing expertise and resources to try to reduce and control the random intrinsic aspect of the creation of innovative enterprise.

Consequently, to discuss your project and ensure it meets the criteria of selection of the incubator, we ask you, at first, either to : contact us by phone (+33 5 55 35 71 40) to describe your project or sent an e-mail to incubateur-limousin@unilim.fr. This document corresponds to a number of questions including the purpose and origin of the project, target markets, the team developing the project, the innovation ...

In a next step, a meeting will be held at the incubator to evaluate your project in more detail. If the project meets the eligibility criteria of the incubator, it will go before our Selection Committee (3-4 meetings a year).

For information, a minimum period of one month is required between the date of first contact and the presentation of the project to the committee.
